Dear York Catholic DSB Families,
Due to expected freezing rain this afternoon,听student transportation is cancelled for today (Tuesday, January 6,听2026) in all York Region student transportation zones. As a result:
- Schools remain open
- 听For Parent(s)/Guardian(s) with children in听Elementary Schools:
- Please use the听Safe Arrival System听if your child(ren) is absent due to inclement weather.听 Students who are unable to attend due to buses being cancelled must still be reported absent using the Safe Arrival System.
- Hot Lunch programs听at all听蓝莓视频 Elementary Schools听are cancelled.
- For Parent(s)/Guardian(s) with children in听Secondary Schools:
- Cafeteria Services at all听蓝莓视频 Secondary Schools听are closed.
- For ALL Parent(s)/Guardian(s):听
- Please exercise discretion in deciding whether to send your child to school today.
- The decision to cancel school transportation service is听region-wide, meaning all school buses, vans, and taxis are not operating.
- Schools are open and parent(s)/guardian(s) can make alternate arrangements to transport their children to and from school.
- As school transportation is cancelled in the morning, it will not operate in the afternoon.
- Exams, tests, quizzes, excursions, charter trips, school programs, co-curricular activities, evening presentations听, workshops, in-services, as well as parent meetings (e.g. Identification, Placement, and Review Committee Meetings, IPRCs) are cancelled for today, and will be rescheduled.
- Virtual learning will continue as usual
- Permits are cancelled for this evening unless by noon on the inclement weather day, the Facilities Department determines that conditions are improving and permits can proceed.
- In person Continuing听Education classes will be cancelled due to Inclement Weather; remote Continuing Education classes, including Adult ESL classes, will continue.
- Before and After school Programs make every effort to remain open in inclement weather.听 However, the decision to open or to close early is up to the discretion of the Child Care Operator.
